MotorIoway Road Rally to Display Vehicles at Iowa 80 Trucking Museum Monday

WALCOTT, IOWA — The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum will be hosting participants in the MotorIoway 1000, an Iowa vintage vehicle road rally, on Monday, September 22, 2008 from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. “We are excited about hosting the group. I can’t think of a better place for vintage vehicle enthusiasts to have lunch,” says Delia Moon Meier, Senior Vice President. “And this is the only Quad Cities area stop for the tour.”

The general public is encouraged to come to the Iowa 80 Trucking Museum, located at I-80 Exit 284, Walcott, Iowa; for the chance to view over 80 vintage cars, trucks and other specialty vehicle entries.

This is the thirteenth MotorIoway 1000 tour. The vintage vehicle tour will be held September 21, – September 27 and is one of the largest events of its type in North America. The tour will start in Coralville-Riverside, finish in Springfield, Illinois and visit 9 other communities via ‘pit-stops’, lunch stops or overnight stays. Vehicles and drivers will be from 5 states and over 50 Iowa communities.

The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum displays over 35 antique trucks dating as far back as 1910, and also includes a movie theatre and gift store. A donation is requested for admission.
