WALCOTT, IOWA — Iowa 80 Truckstop, The World’s Largest Truckstop, has awarded Walcott School a $3,250 grant to fund the installation of more SMART Boards in classrooms.  The grant was available as part of BP’s Fueling Communities Program.  As a BP Fuel Retailer, Iowa 80 Truckstop was allowed to select a qualified school or charitable organization to receive funding.  This is the third grant that Iowa 80 Truckstop has secured for the school.

“We are pleased to be able to support our local schools and help them achieve their goal of providing a quality education to all students. This grant program is a great opportunity for Iowa 80 Truckstop to continue to provide funds toward the Walcott School’s SMART Board initiative,” says Delia Meier, Iowa 80 Group Senior Vice President.

The Walcott School and Walcott PTA‘s goal is to have a SMART Board in every classroom.  SMART Boards are being installed in classrooms as funds are available. “We really appreciate Iowa 80 Truckstop’s continued support of Walcott School, particularly our SMART Board initiative.  It was a pleasant surprise to receive funding again this year.” says Jenni Weipert, Walcott School Principal.  The school has recently ordered three more SMART Boards, which will bring the total to 16 throughout the school.
